Undyed Pre-Wound Warps ~ Ring Spun Cotton

$20.00$45.00

Pre-wound, natural color un-dyed warps in 8/2 ring spun cotton. I offer several warp lengths, that are 200 threads each. These warps can be used in multiples to create additional fabric width.

Each warp has a white info tag located at the cross. I setup from front to back. I leave loops at the beginning and at the end of the warps. I tie the warp in 5 places: at beginning and ending loops, the cross and two choke ties near each end. If you need more ties to secure it due to your personal setup techniques, add more.

These warps are intended to be used alone, in conjunction with warps of the same length, or to be dyed. Because they are cellulose materials, I use MX Fiber Reactive “cold water” dyes which are color-fast, considered ecologically sensitive and simple to use. These warps have not been scoured for dyeing.

These warps must be scoured to be dyed. Scouring is essential to allow the yarn/fabric to accept dye, but it does not have to be complicated. (See scouring info in long product description below.)

Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.

They have not been scoured. Scouring is essential to allow the yarn/fabric to accept dye, but it does not have to be complicated.

Notes on Scouring Yarn/Material to Dye: – use HOT water (140*F), A dash of Dawn dish soap (or Synthrapol if you have it). Do not use anything with bleach or brighteners. Wind your yarn into warps or skeins. Loosely tie them with figure 8 security ties. Without tangling, manipulate and squeeze the yarn to work the hot soapy water into all the fibers and under the security ties. When the yarn is completely saturated and falls to the bottom of bucket (or washing machine) it is done. If something on your yarn is resisting the hot soapy water, you can add 1/4 cup of dissolved Arm and Hammer Washing Soda to the hot soapy water to increase the scouring power. If you have extremely stubborn yarn, you can boil it in the soapy, soda ash water. Rinse well. All this can be done in a washing machine using the fill and spin cycles, but do not agitate!
