This rayon skein has a look that reminds me of a hand-spun linen. It is somewhat loosely spun and has a variety of very subtle natural shades within the base yarn. Dyes well!
These skeins can be worked with as is or it can also be dyed by the purchaser. The yarn has a nice sheen, interesting texture and it dyes deeply and richly. Because they are cellulose materials, MX Fiber Reactive (Procion) cold water dyes are commonly used to dye this yarn. These dyes are color-fast, considered ecologically sensitive and simple to use.
This yarn may need to be scoured before dyeing.
To scour yarn or fabric – use HOT water (140*F), A dash of Dawn dish soap (or Synthrapol if you have it). Do not use anything with bleach or brighteners. Without tangling, manipulate and squeeze the yarn to work the hot soapy water into all the fibers and under the security ties. When the yarn is completely saturated and falls to the bottom of bucket or sink it is done. If an area of your yarn is resisting the hot soapy water, you can add some Arm and Hammer Washing Soda to increase the scouring power. Rinse well. All this can be done in a washing machine using the fill and spin cycles, but do NOT agitate! After the warp is fully saturated and scoured, be sure to rinse excess soap before dyeing.
Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.
