Night Shadows Warp (5/2 Mercerized Cotton)
My warps are hand-dyed. The colors you see in the photos are approximate. All warps will vary in color and each is unique.
This is a strong mercerized cotton. It has a nice sheen and quite a bit of depth in the colors of the dye work. It weighs in at approx. 2,300 yards per pound and wraps at 25 ends per inch. Standard sett for this yarn is 12-18. I would sett it at the high end to show the warp off in the finished piece.
The warps are wound generously in a longer length than listed. The length indicated here is approx length after the shrinkage from the dye process. Each warp has a white info tag located at the cross. There are loops at the beginning and at the end of the warps. I tie the warp in 5 places: at beginning and ending loops, the cross and two choke ties near each end. If you need more ties to secure it due to your personal setup techniques, add more. Please look over them carefully when you get them. If they will not work for you, please return them in their original condition for a refund or exchange. There is no refund on shipping costs.
We try to catch knots & other distractions as we wind. Sometimes they get by, so I encourage you to design your weaving project saving one thread from the warp bundle for a repair thread if need be. This yarn is colorfast in normal use. Do not bleach or use in prolonged sunlight. I boil it and rinse a minimum of 4 or 5 times, but there might still be a little color in your water the first time you wash them. When combining warps that include dark colors and whites, wash in color water with color catcher the first time. Or better yet, if you are using hand-dyed warps that are intense in shade, avoid using white or very light supplemental warp threads or weft.
Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.
These warps are hand-dyed and no two will be the same.
