Not Your Grandma's Dye Kit
Back in the shop! This kit contains 1 oz each of the 7 dye colors that I use to produce all the colors I dye in the skeins and warps here. The kit also contains a cup of sodium carbonate (soda ash) used for setting the dye. Each kit provides enough dye to dye approximately 20 pounds of fiber in a medium depth of shade. 60 or more pounds in pastels. Procion MX Fiber Reactive dyes are used for cellulose fibers, including cotton, linen, hemp, rayon, tencel, and bamboo. They are considered cold water dyes which means you can dye with water from the tap. No boiling or heating involved in dye process.
I include basic dye instructions with each dye kit which includes: Using dyes safely, application of dyes, mixing of dyes to create multiple colors beyond the primary colors included, links to explore many creative dye techniques on-line as well as where to purchase other dye equipment and materials for more in depth dyeing. I also include 1 cup of sodium carbonate (known as soda ash and/or washing soda). You will need to buy more as that is used up. It can be purchased as most grocery stores. Arm&Hammer Washing Soda (NOT washing detergent.) See photo of box in the gallery section.
If you would like to buy pre-wound warps or skeins from me, please look in the section labeled Un-Dyed Yarn.
Shipping will be added at check out. An additional 5% of product price will be added to orders sent to countries other than the USA. (Minimum of $5) This can be avoided if you have an address in the US to which your warps can be shipped.
